Mashinani Watch Organization applauds County Government of Tanariver for a magnificent display in the just concluded Mombasa International Show amid myriads of challenges.

“Congratulation to the County Government of Tana-River for the brilliant representation and display at the just concluded Mombasa International Show. A special shout-out to the Heads of Agriculture and Irrigation departments for their steady and exceptional work in showcasing Tana River's agricultural potential on a grand stage. Despite the challenges the county has faced for a very long time like marginalization, vulnerability due to climate change hazards ranging from droughts, floods, sea water intrusion, pests and diseases (crop and livestock) as well as occasional human epidemics, the county managed to participate in the 2024 Mombasa International Show in style.

The display was well staged and that depicts the preparedness of the County Government towards the implementation of climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience action programs. The county Government of Tana-river is among the 45 counties in the country which have complied with Financing Locally Led Climate Action Program (FLOCCA), a program under the National Treasury co-funded by the World Bank and other bilateral partners, including the Governments of Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands and Germany with a funding of USD297 million.”
