Mashinani Watch Organization urge to parents on diminishing jobs in the market as former President Daniel Moi Pressman warns journalists on investments.
Mashinani Watch Organization Executive Director Moffat Mutero has advised parents to guide their children choose competitive and marketable courses or else suffer joblessness. Speaking during a round table meeting which was convened by Media Council of Kenya and the former president Moi pressman Lee Njiru in Mombasa, Mutero said traditional media related jobs are diminishing due to threats caused by citizen journalism and therefore there was need to relook at the marketability of various courses before enrolling. "The citizen journalism has really posed a big threat to traditional journalism making it less marketable. The media have to change the way they operate and work, including the newsroom. The reporters, the journalists, have to multitask, not only writing news for the print media but also for the online media.
