“We will rally our support behind the Kenya Primary School Heads Association (KEPSHA)on forcing government to change the title of headmasters to that of principals in line with the comprehensive schools they head. It is true d uring the development and implementation of the new CBC, the government through Teacher Service Commission didn’t factor in the hard task of accommodating and managing Junior Secondary School(JSS) in the primary schools’ institutions across the country and that has caused immense pressure on teachers. Head teachers are very right. How can government develop a system then fail to understand the responsibilities coming with that system? Accommodating Junior Secondary Schools in primary schools was supposed to be seen as a new responsibility to head teachers and by mentioning the word “Secondary” in the system, automatically the title of a headmaster ought to have changed to that of a principal.
